Tofino has a nice town on the north-end where you can find convenience stores, coffee shops, restaurants, rentals, totem poles, tours and harbour views. There’s also a popular shopping ring mid-way labelled ‘Outside Break’ where you can find more rental shops and eats. Anyway, here are our overall recommendations for when the tides are low…

Visit downtown Tofino to view the iconic totem poles, sneak some snacks at Rhino Coffee, the Coop, or Gaia Grocery, and visit the Marina Harbour. For shopping, find great local products at the Merge Shop. Saturdays, during the Summer, you can also check out the Tofino Public Market. At night, make resos for the Shed for laid back eats, Wolf in the Fog for fancy or Jeju for spicy, and have a drink at Tofino Brewing Co.

Near the mid-way ring labelled ‘Outside Break’, instead of waiting in Taco Fino‘s long lines, try its neighbour Wildside Grill … and don’t wait in-line for Chocolate Tofino Gelato either, as you can call ahead and just pick-up at the back door. For waterfront eats, try 1909 kitchen.
