Shanghai offers a great layover opportunity. For 24 hours or less in the City, where a Visa may be easily obtained upon entry, consider these Image Itinerary options: The Bund, nearby Nanjing Rd for shopping, Fumin Rd for drinks, plus People’s Square, Shanghai Museum and Yu Garden. The Metro system is super easy to use, with an express Maglev Train available to/from Longyang Rd Station. Only note is they don’t allow Google so make a note of your itinerary stops in advance.

If you have slightly more time, you may stop at one of the many temples, visit the Shanghai Tower, Oriental Pearl TV Tower for ‘Sphere Sightseeing’, or cruise down the Huangpu River with skyline views. It may be cool to see Pandas at a Zoo too. And if you have even more time and money, Huangshan and Hangzhou look spectacular for us landscape lovers.
